The 50th anniversary of the scientific work of Professor
Witold K. Krajewski

Witold Kazimierz Krajewski is a professor at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. He has been associated with the Foundry Department since 1966 as a student, then a doctoral student, assistant and assistant professor, and now a full professor. In 1972 he obtained the title of Master of Science in Foundry Engineering, in 1978 he obtained the title of doctor of technical sciences, the academic degree of habilitated doctor in 2003, and in 2006 he was appointed associate professor. For a year 2014 he has been a full professor. In 2003 he received the British Council – Roman Wasilewski scholarship at the University of Cambridge, Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy, where he worked in the team of prof. A. Lindsay Greer. In 2006-2010, as Visiting Professor and Senior Researcher, he continued his scientific cooperation with the University of Cambridge and the University of Leoben.
In the years 2008-2012 and 2012-2016 he was the Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Foundry Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology. He also headed the Department of Foundry Process Engineering at the Faculty of Foundry Engineering at AGH in the term of office 2012-2016.
Professor Witold Kazimierz Krajewski conducts scientific and research activities in cooperation with foreign centers, including: University of Cambridgé, Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy; University of Leoben, Department of Metallurgy; Swiss Federal Institute of Technology – ETH Zurich, Metal Physics and Technology; IFW Dresden, Institute for Complex Materials; University of Zagreb, Department of Metallurgy
He was repeatedly awarded for his scientific achievements with the prizes of the Rector of AGH. He is a member of many scientific and industry organizations: University of Cambridge – Clare Hall College; Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia; Polish Society of Materials Science; Polish Academy of Sciences (Kraków Branch) – Metallurgical and Foundry Commission; Polish Academy of Sciences, Metallurgy Committee – Section for Theory of Foundry Processes; Polish Academy of Sciences, Katowice Branch – Foundry Commission, Technical Association of Polish Founders, Association of Students of AGH University of Science and Technology, Lions Club Kraków-Śródmieście. He was also for many years a member of the publishing committee of MaFE Metallurgy and Foundry Engineering and a member of the review team of the Archives of Foundry Engineering. He has reviewed numerous works for scientific journals published by Elsevier, Wiley-VCH and Springer.
He has published over 160 papers in scientific journals and in the materials of international congresses and scientific conferences, including the Euromat, World Foundry Congress, Solidification & Gravity series.

Jubilee of the 25th anniversary of the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz

The State University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz enters the period of 25 years of operation and from 2023 it starts operating in the new structure of the University – the Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz.
